Texas Rangers re-sign starting pitcher Matt Harrison – MLB Update
Texas Rangers have re-signed starting pitcher Matt Harrison for next five years. The deal was finalised in $55 million however, other details of the contract are still to be public.
Harrison is a talented baseball player and knows his game well as he has been performing since 2008. Last year, playing at Texas Rangers platform, he went pitching with great numbers of 3.29 ERA. Not only he maintained a good ERA, but his other stats were also very impressive.
He remained confident on the mound and achieved 18-11win loss record, 133 strikeouts and 1.26 WHIP. He currently carries career 4.08 ERA along with 48-30 win loss, 381strikouts and 1.38 WHIP.
In the meanwhile, the Texas Rangers are doing some efforts in other directions too. Their outfielder Lance Berkman has recently spoke to media and told reporters about his team’s potential future plan.
“It’s an interesting spot in the lineup because it’s the spot that makes the world go around in the lineup, You need contributions up and down the lineup, I’m just saying that of all the lineup spots it’s the most critical. You’ve got to have someone hitting third that can get on base, drive guys in," Berkman said Saturday and told the reporters.
“If he’s in the lineup he’s going to produce for you," general manager Jon Daniels said and explained in the media with great detail.
Lance Berkman also did well in the last Major League outing. He achieved good numbers of .259 hitting average along with two home runs, seven RBIs and .381 OBP. Not only in the last MLB outing but overall his career hitting average of .296 along with 360 home runs, 1200 RBIs and .409 OBP.
Along with Lance Berkman, the Rangers also have some very talented outfielders including Nelson Cruz and Craig Gentry. Cruz was exceptional in the last Major League outing as he did well on the plate with .260 hitting average along with 24 home runs, 90 RBIs and .319 OBP. His career stats are also very impressive at .268 hitting average along with 130 home runs, 413 RBIs and .328 OBP.
