Texas Rangers receive 6-5 hammering from Baltimore Orioles - MLB Recap
The Texas Rangers receive bitter hammering of 6-5 from the Baltimore Orioles in their final game of five-match regular series matchup on Thursday, May 10, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
With this win the Orioles also won the series 3-1 while one game was postponed.
Though the game was closely won contest by the Orioles, but still they were able to make an impressive impact on their opponents with pure dedication of its batting lineup and starting rotation, who rattled the Rangers in all areas of play.
The Orioles’ Ryan Flaherty, J.J. Hardy and Nick Markakis played aggressive for their team with a single home run each, but the Rangers’ on the other hand, also hugely wanted to take away this game as they proved their valour in the eighth and ninth inning.
Starter Colby Lewis was hit badly with five runs in his seven innings, but his teammates were not too good to handle their opponents’ pitchers and lost the game despite adding three runs in the final inning.
Lewis said with quite confidence on his outing, “I can't justify that game. It seemed like one of those days where you have really good stuff and then you miss your spot or something and it's just not a hit, it's a homer. You can't really look at it any other way. It was just kind of weird game."
Later Orioles’ manager Buck Showalter said for his team’s combined effort, "I've known Colby for a long time. I knew it was only a matter of time before he settled in. We were fortunate to take advantage of it early. We didn't mount much after that. ... I thought the tack-on runs after the home runs were even bigger."
From start to finish, the game was played on high tempo and no one guessed the winner during the play until it was all over in the final inning when the Orioles sneak through to a one run lead and remained vigilant taking the game as well as series away from last year’s World Series finalists.
