Texas Rangers receive very little trade options for Michael Young
Since the demise of relations between the Texas Rangers and their player, Michael Young, there has been little progress. Young wants a trade and the Rangers are not finding many options in the mix for the opportunity to present
itself. Most of the teams that can call in for the trade, number eight in total. Due to Young’s partial no-trade clause, there are limited options for the club and nothing worth of substantial value that the club could avail from this process.
Young is not ready to waiver his clause and there is no team from the existing eight that has talked seriously on the matter. The eight clubs are Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, Minnesota
Twins, St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Angels. General Manager of the Rangers, Jon Daniels, was able to talk of the matter and in detail.
"There is nothing new to report," Jon Daniels said. "We're pretty much in the same situation as Monday. The bottom line is none of us wanted to be in this situation, especially publicly. Nobody likes being here.
"There are two potential outcomes. One is a trade that satisfies Michael's request and the other is we don't trade him and Michael will play a vital role on the club. It's premature to speculate right now."
Daniels said that the management had put the club together with the idea that Young would be playing a very important role in the midst. He further added that the club was still prepared for the opportunity to see Michael in the
mix, this season.
The Rangers will need to look for a replacement on the designated hitter position if Young truly does leave. The player does have the skill to make it big with the Rangers if he stays this season, but the problem is quiet apparent;
how long will the club and the player hold strong?
