Texas Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler sticks to routine work but alters hairstyle
Ian Kinsler may have slashed his hitless streak on Monday against the Los Angeles Angels, but this is just the beginning. The leadoff hitter for the Texas Rangers was sporting a completely different hairstyle as well. Walking onto the field at the Rangers
Ballpark in Arlington, the second baseman was hitless in 18 at – bats.
The player had no different strategy on the helm when he walked out to face the Angels. His hairstyle, however, was not something he had asked for either.
"I'm trying to stick with what I've been doing and grind it out as fast as possible," Kinsler said. "And try to get back into a rhythm and get my timing back and get going again.
"It's always more magnified at the beginning of the season when you look up at the scoreboard and it says a buck-70. I'm just keeping my head down and keep trying to find ways to get back on base."
Kinsler took the time to explain what happened to his hair. The heartthrob explained that his barber misinterpreted what he asked him to do. The result was a great loss of hair. The hard hitter mentioned that there was nothing that could be done for the
female supporters.
"They'll have to go to New York and fish it out of a trash can, because it's gone," he said.
The leadoff hitter is currently on 11-for-56. His batting average has sharply declined over the past few days, which at the moment stands at .196. The second baseman was successful in clearing a run for the club against the Angels as he was handed a walk
to head to first base. The hitter has amassed 12 runs so far and extracted 12 walks as well.
He has smashed 4 home runs in the season already and his first three came off the first three games against the Boston Red Sox. His slugging percentage is .500 and his on-base percentage is .357. Kinsler is looking to get better in his role as a regular
Rangers player. Time will tell how his transition goes.
