Texas Rangers show interest in free agent Grady Sizemore – MLB News
The World Series finalists Texas Rangers are showing interest in former Cleveland Indians’ Grady Sizemore who has become a free agent after the Indians did not exercise the team option on him last month.
Now some reports have confirmed that the Rangers’ management is pursuing hard for Grady Sizemore’s free agency and making a viable strategy to offer him a good contract.
Jeff Passan, who is a famous sports writer and possesses a great knowledge regarding baseball especially Indians’ players, wrote earlier for Grady Sizemore, “He’s 29, will be a year off microfracture surgery and primed to come back, Whether it’s a one-year,
make-good deal or a multiyear, under-market package, the team that strikes on Sizemore – and moves him to left field – will be happy it did.”
Another sports expert for a renowned sports website Jim Bowden also wrote a statement that reflects the very thoughts of baseball experts as to how significant his free agency is for many Major League franchises, “Sizemore could end up being one of the best
bargains of this free-agent class if he can stay healthy in 2012, but that's a big 'if, E. Clubs are spending significant time going through his medicals and consulting with his physicians.”
These two statements certainly replicate that every MLB team wants a good and courageous player for future building. It is pretty sure that Grady Sizemore will end up in a very good team but at the moment, the Texas Rangers are the most persuasive ones.
Rangers’ top man Ron Washington also expressed his desires to bring more quality players into the roster at the end of the World Series encounter with the St. Louis Cardinals but he has yet to comment officially on Grady Sizemore’s status as becoming a part
of the Texas Rangers during the off-season.
However, despite the Rangers showing great interest to sign Sizemore, many other MLB franchises including the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies and the Colorado Rockies are also planning to offer him a contract that will
insure his arrival in their team.
On the other hand, Sizemore and his agent Joe Urbon are also watching closely all these developments and will accept any offer with mutual understanding.
