Texas Rangers trade Taylor Teagarden to Baltimore Orioles – MLB News

The Texas Rangers took a bold decision on Thursday and traded away their talented catcher Taylor Teagarden to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange of minor league pitcher Randy Henry, who will be a great prospect for the franchise in the near future.
The loss in the 2011 World Series has still a bitter taste for some Rangers’ top executives, who promised at the end of the World Series to their fans that they will bounce back in the next season and try to win this prestigious honour.
Later as soon as the free agency period started, the Rangers started to rebuild the team and now this process has begun with the trade of Taylor Teagarden to the Orioles, who have exchanged their minor league prospect Henry. It is a chance move on the part
of the Rangers, as Teagarden is a tremendous player.
On Thursday, the Rangers’ general manager Jon Daniels said, “There were a couple of clubs that expressed interest in Teagarden and signing him, Rather than getting to the end of spring training and having limited options at that point, we wanted to make
the best baseball deal with any team we could.”
Teagarden has team options with the Rangers this season and a timely trade will also help him grow with another team in Major League Baseball. Though, his performance was not appreciated much by many baseball experts during 2011 but his past performances
have a very good winning track with the Rangers franchise.
Playing just 14 games in 2011, Teagarden has still many years ahead in the future. Regarding his stats, which were not good in the last season, but his determination, remained the same in every game and especially late in the postseason.
Acquiring Teagarden, the Baltimore Orioles are now very pleased and aiming high in the upcoming days. His past experience will certainly help the Orioles, who did not show any fighting spirit and lost too many games in the 2011 regular season. The team will
be looking to Henry to put in a good performance for the team when the 2012 MLB regular season starts.
