Texas Taks test Math.. Daughter needs this recieve her diploma that she has earned..?

Yes according to the state, she can not receive her diploma without passing all parts of the taks test . This test is a crock and that comes from me a teacher in Texas for 20+ years . It does nothing to actually teach the kids to think on their own nor does it teach them the basics . It is made up by some brainiac in Austin that is a wannabe teacher, but has never been in a classroom in their life .

This test does not test their knowledge of the subject nor is it a fair test . I took one one time just for the heck of it and I found that some of the questions had two possible answers and really they were both right . It is time for parents in Texas to stand up and tell the state to take that test and shove it so the teachers can actually teach . Teachers spend over half their time teaching the test rather than the subject being taught . Some teachers and districts spend 20 -24 weeks teaching the test.

Example m my daughter graduated high school here in Texas with a 3.9 GPA and a 100 average in Sr. English . When she got into college and took her first English class , she called me and said Dad I need your help here because I have no idea what my English teacher is talking about . Oh yea she could pass any taks test , but she knew very little about English . The district had spent 10th and 11 grade teaching the test not the subject . Please stand up and get your friends to do the same . It is cheating our kids of an education and it is not fair to put that much pressure on any student , the pressure of pass all parts or don't graduate . Bull Malarky , My daughter is now a teacher in another district , thank God and sheteaches elementary kids . The 3rd graders take that stupid test and if they do not pass it , they can not move to the 4th grade even if they have all A's on the report card .

Wrong, WRONG , WRONG ! Please write your congressman or woman andget others to do the same and tell them what I have shared with you tonight . Our kids are being robbed of and education.
