Texas Teachers Pay?

Is the state base pay for Texas teachers expected to increase for the 2008-2009 school year? and if so, how much?

I'm not aware of a state-wide, across the board, salary increase but that doesn't mean that there is not one. Our particular district - in the Houston, TX area - is raising teacher pay in 2008-9.

However,school district teacher's salaries vary greatly in Texas.

Probably your best bet is to check the websites for the school districts in which you're interested. You can find all school district links on the TEA website. Of course you may already know that if you are from Texas.
