Texie Petchel invited to play Fresh & Easy – Kraft Foods Legacy Junior Challenge
Texie Petchel has reportedly been invited to participate in the much-hyped Fresh & Easy – Kraft Foods Legacy Junior Challenge after she received an offer from the event’s officials.
The event is scheduled to start on March 27, with a strong field featuring talented players.
According to the reports, the young prodigy is already gearing up to play the tournament, making the most of the facility given by officials.
The event is special for Petchel, as the winner will get a sponsor’s exemption to play the major championship — Kraft Nabisco Championship that is slated to begin from March 28 to April 1 at the famous Mission Hills Country Club.
Kraft Nabisco Championship is staged under the auspices of the LPGA Tour, featuring competent golfers from across the world.
Speaking to the media about her invitation to participate in the Fresh & Easy – Kraft Foods Legacy Junior Challenge, Petchel said that she was informed of the news through an email.
She said that she did not expect to listen to such amazing news, as she was busy in her fourth-period AVID class.
Petchel said that she was mentally upset with what she was doing, but the news of the invitation put smile on her face. She said that she has a great opportunity to prove her worth on the course.
The Kraft Nabisco Championship will prove a good experience for the rising star if she records a victory at the Fresh & Easy – Kraft Foods Legacy Junior Challenge.
She said that playing in major championships has always been her dream and the start of the current has proved lucky for her.
David Blake Thomas, Executive Director & Chairman Kraft Nabisco Championship said that young players have always had plenty of opportunities to make it to the major championships.
He said in addition to professional players, there will be a number of young female golfers in the roster of the Kraft Nabisco Championship.
"Major championships are typically reserved for professionals and high-ranking amateurs from around the world, but this year we wanted to offer young women golfers in our own backyard the dream opportunity to compete for a chance to play in this year's first
major, the Kraft Nabisco Championship," he said.
