Text shortcode number 84566?

Question

I recieved a text message 'Hi, did u get my. last text?' from 84566 and I think I was charges for this text. Has anbody else recieved a message from this number and do they know who it's from.

No. If they text you again, ignore it, and they will get the message. Not literally of course, unless you send them one, but, you know what I mean.

This is a shortcode text subscription service which costs £1.50 per text. The company is mBlox Ltd. If you've not 'signed up' for it then send back STOP ALL to the number. Follow the link below to see for yourself. Its supported by the ICSTIS which was basically set up to oversee this sort of thing. There's more info in the source link as to claiming back money etc from these firms who do this

From searching the web, this short code has been reserved but does not have a company attached to it. It is more than likely a scam to sign up for a premium sms that will charge you anywhere from .99/day to 9.99/month.

I would delete it.

I don't think you'll have been charged for the text you've received, but they probably want you to reply because then they'll get your money.

Get in touch with your service provider and ask them if you were charged. Point out that you didn't contact whoever it is and it's possible that whoever sent it might get fined.
