Textbooks For Homeschooling?

Question

I have a curriculum I just need some extra textbooks Please give me some brands(example--Saxon Math) for the following,ive had no luck yet...

Social Studies

Science

English

Apologia by Jay L. Wiles for science!!! It's the best science book ever. I never was really interested in science until we used this book.

I'm not sure about social studies, but try Life Pac for English it's pretty good.

But definitely Apologia for science! : )

Language arts -Holt, Rinehart and Winston

Literature -         Holt, Rinehart and Winston

Math                    Glencoe

We actually use assorted material but these were some books in my bookbox ( shelves are being painted right now).

Go to the websites for these publishers.   You may find that they are what you need.  

I would suggest you find them at used book stores instead of ordering from publisher.  It would save you hundreds of dollars to buy them used.

If you were a sophomore I recommend you these books.

For Social Studies: Asia (any books about asia, it's tophography, people, tradition and literature)

For Science: Biology (any biology books will do)

For English: Language in Literature

I use Alpha Omega lifepack for language and math with my kids (grd 3 and 6) and for science and social studied I have guarity and scott foreman. We also have books from HBJ Macmillian-Macgraw,Serra, Prestice Hall,

I got most of my stuff from local thrift store for $.50 to $1.00

You didn't mention which grade so I just posted what I use.

Unit studies are also great and most are free minus library time and books you may want to purchase

I think Ebay is one of the greatest places to purchase books.  I purchased most of my K - 12 off ebay and save thousands.

We use Tapestry Of Grace, which incorporates History, Writing, and Geography. I like Alpha Omega Lifepac Math, and Apologia Sciences for all grades and ages.
