Texting doesn't work in the dominican republic?

My cousin has told me that they dont work there. Like to go outside of DR.

Do emails work? Such as yahoo?

Yeah ofcourse it works. I can send emails here, always .. but i usually send them over the internet anyways tho, lol.

This is no Africa, (like I told before) so everything works here.

If your service provider is not based in the DR and you'll be travelling there and bringing your cellphone, just make sure you get the roaming service and your provider knows where you will be going. The can make your service easily accessible for you. Otherwise you can encounter difficulties ONLY because of that reason.
