Texting help please answer 10 points and good votes.!?

Okay so i wanted to get texting and i dont no how to convice my parents my dad for sure will not get it but he doesnt look at the bill my mom does the payments and i always get charged 4 dollars more or 3 for people texting me its 15 cents i have sprint family plan and it would be 10 dollars how would i conince them or my mom every time i try she says do u wnt a fone or not

please help!

pay for it urself, my mom said it was unnecessary and she didnt need that to contact me, so if i wanted it to chat with my friends id have to pay for it myself. i mean its only ten dollars a month no big deal

well save money and tell them youll pay 4 the texting part thats wat i told my mom 4 her to let me get internet on my cell =)
