  1. I think it's okay as long as you don't abuse it. Maybe talk to him about unlimited texting? Texting can come in really handy...it doesn't waste as much as calling. I don't see a problem with it..as long as you don't text people that are like sitting right next to you - that's just ridiculous. Good luck! :)

  2. yes i agree with you

its a way to express yourself!

  3. Yeah I agree with you.

  4. Not every teen grows up with texting.  Some don't even have phones.  (gasp)  Nobody died from lack of texting, and you probably won't either.

As a mom, my advice to get through to him would be to quit bugging the c**p out of him because that won't get you anywhere, be really good, do some extra chores and stuff to get on his good side, and then in a few days present a well thought out presentation as to why you should be allowed to get a texting plan.  Have limits that will make sense to him (no texting while driving or in class for example).  Show him that you can be mature and reasonable about it.  "Everybody else does it" is a not a good argument.  "I will use less minutes talking on the phone because text messaging is quicker and more efficient" is a better argument.  Think about the benefits of texting, and think about his arguments against texting and ways to counter them.

    Good luck.

  5. i dont agree.

    im 15.

and i think it distracts from school.

i had texting and it was all i did.

    it was freakin ridiculous.

now i just myspace all the time.

  6. Texting is stupid. You pay like 10 cents to sent stupid little badly spelled phrases. And teenagers text people 10 feet away. That's just dumb. Talk instead, like a normal person. Talking is free.

  7. AGREE.

Just say, That would you rather me be on the phone for hours and spend loads.

Or send quick texts for the cheapest ever lol

    xx

  8. i agree with you...life has changed a lot with immediate communications.some parents can not understand this and thus criticize.but also teens get to "trapped"with chatting, bloging, ipoding and have zero or almost in communication with parents!

agree to use this when you are not :having meals,at family time-by the way-parents who only criticize and do nothing better communication with children are dead wrong-so if u have no family time suggest you all have a family day going on a pic nic, walking, playing soccer etc.not use it while visiting family grand ma etc.or in car with parents-when the drive is short.when it is long agree to use it 1 or twice.do not be plugged to ipod etc when family is together, but i insist parents should make an effort to give something in return!cook together, watch a movie together, plan to go camping, build something ,play games together....the truth is all those devises do isolate you and it seems ENORMOUSLY selfish and rude to be doing them while in company of others.so you get the picture use them when u are alone-mostly.

  9. Teen Texting are a teens life i agree. But i hate when im with a friend ..like there's a time to txt and a time to call ...

Anyways tell your dad if you get unlimited txt you could actually save money on your bill because that means less calls

cheak with your cell provider for other money saving plans if that does not help.
