Hi. I've joined a group that likes to have tasting and recipe trading parties.

The first meeting is this weekend and I need 2 dishes that 20 people will sample.

The party is outdoors in the afternoon. I will cook in the morning and the dishes will not be reheated.

I'm a decent cook of Thai foods and took cooking lessons in Thailand. I have lots or recipes, but I can't decide what to make!!

Please let me know what you would like to nibble on at a party so I can make up my mind:)

coconut shrimp  (shrimp hanging on the edge of the coconut flambe

    chocolate fountain with fruit.

cheese tray with toasted garlic bread

  2. "TodMun", if you want something authentic

  3. Beef and chicken satay with spicy peanut sauce

    angel wings

  4. mango salad..my favourite..yumm..

  5. Yum Talay, Yum Pla Murk, Yum woon sen, Pod Pia, Satae Kai, Som Tum, Ma Haw, Yum Yai, Mee Krob, Pad Kee Mao, and nam.

  6. sticky rice with mango

    thai spring rolls

    thai ice tea

    pad see ew

  7. Green mango or pomelo salad, mung bean noodle (aka glass or cellophane noodle) salad, stuffed chicken wings, Thai fish/prawn cakes, deepfried eggs or tofu with tamarind sauce dip

If you could reheat there would be more options. Satay is best warmed, cold satay meat can toughen. Then there's soups like tom yam that can really open up the appetite. Other choices include curried mussels, spicy clams, chicken wrapped in pandan leaves, spicy steamed fish custard or otak, stir-fried beef with basil, pineapple rice.

  8. Papaya salad with shrimp (last minute deal to serve fresh).  Thai spring rolls.  Thai ice coffee or ice tea (can make fresh there). Satay is always good.  Oh wait, mango and coconut milk over sweet rice!  Hey, how about mango, coconut milk, crab meat and a sprinkle or 2 of hot peppers over sweet rice?  I need to stop!  I am making me hungry!
