  1. I trained at Lanna in Chiang Mai for several years. Excellent teachers, a great atmosphere and good team spirit. there are trips to Lumpini in Bangkok to see some of the pro fights that fighters from the camp enter.

All in all a very tough experience, but the staff will train you to your full potential should you wish to. They ascertain your level from Novice through to pro then train you acordingly.

It's also a good opportunity to pick up some of the language, enjoy the culture and learn some customs.

  2. A few of us have been wanting to do that, too. The owner of our dojo has gone a few times. I will ask him if I see him Tuesday night. I want to do that one day, too. I have heard once you get there, it's pretty inexpensive for food/hotel (in case you don't get an all inclusive deal). I do think you need to watch your back if you go and it would be better not to travel alone. But I'll double check with my sensei.

  3. Martial Arts Fight Camp? You mean Muay Thai? Muay Thai is taught everywhere in Thailand. The official Muay Thai Institute is just north past Don Muang Domestic Airport on Vipharvardi Road.

I see farangs training Muay Thai here all the time. There are many reputable schools here in Thailand where you can live and train.

I don't know if it is safe or not? Those 110 pound Thai's will probably kick your ***. The train really hard and just about kill each other when they spar. As long as you are spending money there they probably won't beat you up too much and scare you off.

  4. I have jsut come back from trainig muay thai in thailand. At a camp called tiger muay thai in chalong in phuket. It was an amazing gym with 3 rings and an MMA cage. Then ran a beginners intermediate and advance class. All three class's train 7 hours a day 6 days a week an you have sunday off. However if u wanted a day off its no problem. Was great training an now im back ripped as *** with a nice tan!! amazing!

Also the gym does moped hire for about £3 a day which is cool for going down to the beach inbetween training etc

another few camps down there which also seem pretty good are rawai muay thai and suwit. There all in pritty much the same area ideal locations.

several accomodation options there is the gym accomodation or there is loads of little bugalows all down the street for pritty much the same price.

Seemed safe down there didnt here of any stories an i was there for a month. Internet is cheap an so is food in the restaurant. Most expensive meal is about £2 most of them are around a £1.10
