Thailand’s best shuttler, Boonsak Ponsana, continued his smooth performance and reached into the Men’s Singles final after crushing Indonesia’s Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo in semi-final clash of SCG Thailand Open 2013 in Bangkok, on Saturday, June 8.
The in-form local player, who is the top seed in the tournament, was in tremendous control of rallies from the starting points. He maintained pressure on his Indonesian challenger in a convincing manner and won the match with a lopsided 21-9 and 21-9 margin
on the board.
On the other hand, the Wisnu Yuli could not cope with the increasing pressure as he was confused and committed many errors. He failed to raise his level of play and left the court after suffering a humiliating defeat from his local rival.
The starting points of first game were interesting when both players showed urgency to control the affairs. However, it was the local shuttler who started to control the affairs of the game.
With his aggression and incredible speed, Ponsana proved that he belongs to the highest class of players as he easily set up a huge gap without facing any trouble.

The following set was almost similar to the previous one as the top seeded Ponsana was at his best. He did not take much time in setting up a huge lead on the board.
Ponsana executed beautiful jumping smashes on both sides of his Indonesian opponent. He did not miss any opportunity to extend his lead on the board.
The calm and composed Thai shuttler maintained his aggression and kept his opponent on the back foot. He easily managed a comfortable lead until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Ponsana continued his impressive run without facing any considerable trouble from his challenger. He finished off the game quite convincingly with a fantastic 21-9 score and bagged a comprehensive victory.
