Thailand’s prospects in the AVC Continental Beach Volleyball Cup at home soil
The Asian Confederation de Volleyball (AVC) is always busy making new schedules for beach volleyball teams. Quite recently, the players demonstrated their skills on the sands of China at the 16th Asian Games Beach Volleyball Championship. After
the successful completion of amazing Asian Games, another exciting beach volleyball event has been arranged in the neighbour country Thailand. The double gender AVC Continental Beach Volleyball Cup is being held in Phetchaburi, Cha-Am, Thailand this week.
The AVC Continental Beach Volleyball Cup is basically the Southeast Sub Zonal phase.
The general technical meeting for this three-day campaign was held on Tuesday, November 30, while the tournament officially started off on Wednesday, December 1. It will reveal the final results on the end of third day.
Teams from Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand are set to contest their abilities in the tournament. These three participating countries have sent four teams each. Thailand is playing with the same players, who took part in the last beach volleyball campaign in
China. Thailand’s two teams in both the male and female categories fought for supremacy in Guanguzhou, China last week.
In this particular tournament at home-soil, Thailand is tagged as top-seeded in the squad. On the other hand, Vietnam and Laos are second and third seeded respectively.
In the women’s section, Thailand exhibited a great performance at Asian Games with Usa Tenpaksee and Jarunee Sannok. The duo climbed up the stairs of fame by capturing bronze medal. Likewise, the other pairing of Kamoltip Kulna and Yupa Phokrongploy has
good record in the Southeast Asian Games. They have secured the Southeast Asian Games title for two successive times. Both teams are enjoying a top form and they will surely turn many heads around with their brilliant performance.
The men’s side has also got a lot of potential. The first duo of Thailand is comprised of Sittichai Sangkhachot and Niphon Nimnuan, while the other team has Panupong Toyam and Teerapat Pollueang in it. They are the strongest pairings in the tournament. Unluckily,
the Thai teams couldn’t prove their effort in the Asian Games in China but they are determined to capture the top honour in this tournament. The emotional support of fans and familiar beach is another big advantage for the home team. Besides, they are generally
believed to be better teams than Vietnam and Laos. Thailand is bound to get their best out and give their fans a chance to celebrate.
