2012 on Friday, August 17, in Singapore.
The lower ranked Thammasin, who is the 15th seeded player in main draw of the championship, played smashing badminton as he did not show any mercy to the fourth seeded Anup and sent him packing without losing any game.
The 15th seeded Thai shuttler played with impressive confidence and remained in commanding position all the way to end up the match in just 34 minutes and ousted Anup in straight games with a convincing margin on the board.
On the other hand, the higher ranked Anup was shocked with the punishing treatment he received from his Thai rival on court. He could not put up strong show at all in both sets and lost the match without showing his class.

The impressive Thai continued his gutsy performance on court and remained successful in taking a wonderful lead until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute mid-game interval, the underdog Thai shuttler continued his roller-coaster run without sparing any chance for his Indian opponent to fight back in the game.
The spirited Thammasin sailed smoothly all the way to wrap up the opening set with a thrashing 21-10 score on the board.
The second game was interesting as Anup lifted up his level of play and matched the pace of rallies. He played positively this time and remained close to Thammasin on score board until the break.
After the one-minute interval, Thammasin changed his tactics and kept the bird low by moving quick in all areas and managed a reasonable lead.
The Thai shuttler played flawless badminton in the ending points and took the set with a decent difference of 21-18.
The passionate Thammasin comprehensively won this semi-final battle with a stunning 21-10 and 21-18 score on the board.
