Thane Q Grill. The burners won't stay lit. Igniter works and under the light dome there is a valve

The burners won't stay lit. Igniter works and under the light dome there is a valve with a rubber button on top. I can depress this button and get gas to the burners, however when I let go of the button, the gas stops and burners go out.
