1992 National League Championship Series :

A lotta room in right-center, if he hits one there we can dance in the streets. The 2-1. Swung, line drive left field! One run is in! Here comes Bream! Here's the throw to the plate! He is...safe! Braves win! Braves win! Braves win! Braves win!...Braves win! They may have to hospitalize Sid Bream; he's down at the bottom of a huge pile at the plate. They help him to his feet. Frank Cabrera got the game winner! The Atlanta Braves are National League champions again! This crowd is going berserk, listen!

1995 World Series :

Mark gets the sign, the wind and the pitch here it is... swung, fly ball deep left center, Grissom on the run... Yes! Yes! Yes! The Atlanta Braves have given you a championship! Listen to this crowd! A mob scene on the field. Wohlers gets' em one, two, three. A couple of fans rushing on the field. The Atlanta Braves have brought the first championship to Atlanta!

Say what you will ... Skip Carey will be missed. Thanks!

  1. Very sad news I heard this morning regarding Skip's untimely passing.  I remember listening to him so many games and particularly the ones you mentioned.  I enjoyed broadcasts with Skip who was so direct to the point at calling a game with a little bit of humor mixed in.  He was a huge part of the Braves and for many years most definetly the voice of the Braves.  Rest in Peace Skip.

  2. I grew up listening to Skip Caray and Pete Van Wieren and even Ernie Johnson Sr. on TBS watching the Braves.  Skip was a great person and a stellar announcer.  I griefed Harry's passing and I am grieving Skip's.  It's now Josh and Chip to take the torch and pass on what they have learned. They are a great family of broadcasters and baseball fans.

    We will miss him.

  3. R.I.P.

  4. While I am not a Braves fan, Skip Caray was a very fine announcer and will be missed. His passing is a loss not only to the Braves, but to the game of baseball. RIP Skip. :(

  5. Skip was a great one just like his father and will be missed by many fans ..he was one of the few that when you hear him announce a game ...he made it seem so real

    RIP Skip

  6. This is harder news to me than when Harry died, I grew up watching Braves games on TBS, I did not have WGN so Skip was a bigger part of my life.  Rest in peace Skip!
