Thank god it's friday?

I work in an office with one other person in the room. She hasnt spoken to me since it was found out I was doing all her rubbish jobs she was meant to be doing. The atmosphere is made even more unbearable by the fact she forces me to listen to Radio 1 day after day. She just went out and muttered something to me. I presume this was her telling me that she was going out

Does anyone else have a really ignorant person they have to work with?

Aaah Mrs Grohl let me tell you about Jim....

I had sit opposite him for a year. He was 55 , obese, smelt of b.o, food permanently stuck in his teeth, clothes 2 sizes too small, sexist and as thick as pig poo.

Could this have got any worse? Oh yes because he went and married a little 25 yo from Thailand and then proceeded to tell me all about his s*x life.

I still have nightmares. Much better if they don't speak. x

Not for me Mrs Grohl ~ I am in work all day Saturday, and half the day Sunday, so I am not looking forward to the week end.

Luckily I don't get grief off anyone there ~ they don't dare after 15 years, lol. In 15 years you can be the miserable moo in the office!

I only work with my husband so if we have had a tiff it can be a bit sticky for a while. It must be horrible working all day in an atmosphere

YES, And YES. I Work with the PIG FROM h**l" there's this guy in my office that "Releases gas" Ok he FARTS at all times, even in fron of us all, in meetings etc and does not seem to even notice or even say sorry or excuse me, we have all told him to stop being such a PIG, no he's not overweight or have a bowel problem that we know or managemwent knows about, he just Farts all the time, man our office stinks all the time, we have complained to management, they have spoken to him and have even installed a deodorizer system in here.  What can we do?? fortunately his office in is the corner.. we are to our wits with him..

This is precisely why I could never work in an office.  I am far too willing to speak my mind, and would probably end up smacking someone in the head, when they back talked.

However, I do face some of the same challenges even being the boss.  I have alot of contractors working for me, and they whine all the time.  The contract this, the contract that, policy this policy that.  I call it childish laziness.  Because they all act like spoilt children and they are all lazy.  I have two solutions.

1. I nit pick every little job they do, and if it's not absolutely 110% perfect, I make them do it again, while on what's called "lost time" that means they get a reduced rate.  After 20 hours of lost time in a month then when they get "lost time" they go on "zero rate" that means they don't get paid at all.  Needless to say, they soon get the point.

2. For the individuals that whine about treatment.  I have have developed the "Hurt Feelings Report" it goes like this.

I have given out several and strangely only one was ever filled out.  He wanted his mommy.  He was on the next chopper out.  Usually they just get damp and pout for a few days.  Meanwhile I laugh, and laugh, then nit pick every job they do for a week, if they don't quit I ease up.  

A note, we don't have unions where I work, nor do we have any PC bullshite.  You can call a spade a spade and run a guy off on the spot.  We have simple rules, "work= get paid well" "don't work= get fired"  It works well.  I love it.

For all you office workers in the rat race, always having to pick up the slack of the dog Fckers.  Yet reap no benefits from it.  I feel for you.

Yes. I dont actually work with her but have to communicate with her about patients. When speaking face to face she cant look at me let alone bring herself to speak, instead she talks to the person standing next to me as if I dont exist.

I had to phone her today and she was sweet as and very helpful. Friggin weirdo.

I cant say anything to her because I'm friends with her daughter, so like the complete wuss I am, I put up with it.

Unfortunately there are people like that. All I can say is try not to let it bother you. She is a jerk, but there's no reason for you to be a jerk back. Keep saying good morning, and don't let any spitefulness in.

And who knows? Something good may actually happen. I once had a real jerk I worked with, he would curse me out in emails and even to my face. I decided I would make a concerted effort to be nice to him. One day I offered to go out and buy him some lunch. He kind of looked at me like "what the heck?!?!" and sort of quietly said "no ... thank you." After that, he never cursed me again, and was actually nice to me, joking with me, etc.

I can't promise the same will happen for you, but you never know!

OMG I have worked with people just like that.  I am so thankful that I am now retired and it's all in the past.

Face aches who come into work and not speak because they've had a row with their husband!!  

Those who dodge any task they don't like the look of, take a day off when they know something difficult is in the offing.

ah i'm so glad i don't have to work in a office anymore you always get someone trying to make life difficult for you. I now work in a infant school and have had 5 lovely weeks off!!

I couldn't stand that. I'm lucky in that my boss who I work in the same office as is great, she is more like a friend. Just count the hours until you leave and go get a stiff one. Drink I mean.
