i used to use the silent spinner and it was wonderful but my poor hammie is wayy too big for it and would have to arch her back to run on it. i tried to get the bigger size but its way to big (used for chinchillas and stuff) so i got another wheel but its metal and im pretty sure the holes hurt her feet. i keep looking for a medium sized plastic wheel (thats solid no holes or wireing) but i can only find 5 inch (too small) or 12 inch (too big)

can someone send me some sites with pictures of wheels that would be good for me to buy?

what kind should i use? (shes close to guinea pig size)

i live near a petco and a petsmart but im not opposed to ordering offline

  1. The one the person suggested above is what I use with my rats (the biggest version).  http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... Another option is to buy a wodent wheel.  http://www.transoniq.com/

Check out walk-in stores to see if a store near you has one, otherwise you can purchase online.  Petsmart sells these as well.  http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js...

    Hope that helps!

  2. Your best option is to go to one of those pet stores and look at the wheels. You can take them out of the box and see how they feel. This is better because you can see all the wheel's features. Also consider an exercise ball if you don't have one already. The exercise balls let your hamster move in all directions and make exercise more challenging. However, exercise balls shouldn't replace the wheels, but should be an alternative.

  3. instead of a wheel,

you could get her a rodent ball

ur hamster goes in a ball

    and rolls around the house.

    it's so adorable

    [sold in petco.]

That is a very large wheel that I have seen in the pet store before, as well as had it for my previous hamster. She loved it!

I would recommend that you do not use anything that has 'grids' on the wheel, but just a solid, plastic one. Their feet can get caught in the small openings in the grids, and injure your hamster.

    Good luck!

  5. tough.

i use the comfort wheel, but then again it only comes in the size you mentioned. maybe wodent wheels- buy the medium size and you should be okay. or, just line your current wheel with cardboard.

  6. Check out the Foster & Smith website.  They have really good pets stuff and have wheels in different sizes.
