Question

We now live in PA. and it's like $50.00 + every year to get your car inspected and emissions! It's expensive here anymore and too cold. We are thinking of moving to TN next year. We have both been there and loved the experience. Thanks again

Moving isn't cheap. either. I've never found the cost of rental trucks, packing boxes, and gas to/fro to be a bargain. the first time I moved to Chicago was as a single person with just 3 rooms of furniture. It cost me $2400 way back in the 80s. Before you think about moving, make sure you have a job in place, some place to live, and that you can make the move all in one trip.

In the meantime, ask your gas/electric carrier for a budget plan, see if the social service agencies can help you with energy assistance, and remember that $50 for emissions testing on your vehicle isn't going to go away. The EPA mandates which parts of the country have to do it and $50 is a bargain by Chicago standards.

Lead with your head on this one. Plan it all out and don't act impulsively. Too many people have gotten in a deep hole by jumping in on a big move and forgetting little things like whether there's a job there for them so that they can pay their bills and not have to pay mega deposits on their utilities just to have them turned on.
