  1. not only is it the way to go, you get more torque pound for pound (more pulling power).  And not only that, you can let it idle all day and not burn more than a gallon of diesel.  The only bad thing about a diesel is when its cold, they don't like the cold until they get warmed up at least a little.

  2. If you're trying to save money diesel is deffinitely the best way to go. My 1.6 litre bmw spent twice as much gas as my mum's 2.2 turbo diesel mercedes. But you should expect to pay more for the car.

  3. Robert,

Diesel vehicles are more efficient than their gasoline counterparts.  They also tend to last longer, which if you're a high mileage driver as you say, should definitely factor into your decision.

Expect to get about 15-20% better mpg with the diesel and an engine life of at least 200K miles.

  4. a friend of mine has a 2006 dodge diesel. bought it brand new. it started out getting aroudn 16 mpg, and as he drove the truck more and more, broke in the engine and all that, he mileage has gotten up to around 22mpg now. He has a dodge duelie by the way, two tires on the rear axle with a heavy duty tow package.

  5. diesels are definately more efficient.

  6. You're welcome for the answer.

No, it's not good on gas, it's good on diesel.

    You're welcome for the help.
