Question

the leafs picked up one of my favourite canadians JAMAL MAYERS!

finally, something of use! he is a very talented player and i CANT WAIT to see him play!

i am so excited now. It's the little things the leafs can do! Mayers is a player who could stay for a very long time

the weird thing is, i have him on my NHL 08 team :)

and the only thing the leafs gave up was a 4th rounder i believe.

oh and the preds SIGNED Ellis, then TRADED Mason, i guess that makes the Goaltending situation in Nashville pretty obvious.

i cant wait until the Draft!

i hope we get Luke Schenn! or in some Miracle Nikita Filatov!

ron wilson will help the leafs this year. im a sharks fan and he was a good coach for us, you just never know maybe the leafs can make the playoffs in 09 ;)

its actually a 3rd round pick. I dont like that trade 1 bit. I thought toronto was in the rebuilding stage. This is just another trade of the leafs being the old leafs. When the leafs are supposed to be going young then go trade a 3rd round pick for a 34+ year old. GREAT TRADE. no wonder the leafs are in the bottom. Also good use of the 1.2million salary the leafs are taking on now. Leafs dont know what a rebuild is.

i dont know if the leafs are trying to follow the penguins blue print, but Jamal Mayers is not a Roberts, Recchi type player. I thought Fletcher was better than this

Yeah, dude, Mayers is definitely a good grinder and hopefully will have a good impact with the Leafs. A fresh face can probably give the team a better culture. It was for a third rounder, by the way.

i know. i love jamal, an di'm happy about this, but like the other guy was saying i'd perfer if the leafs kept all their picks and tried to get as much fresh blood into mlse as possible, but like the other person said it won't hurt. he loves toronto, he's from here, and we love him!!!

About the only thing he did for us the last few years was shoot the puck on a one timer. Anything else and he was just horrible in my opinion. A very popular guy in town though.

The blues needed to free up some money but it did suprise me a bit as they have been wanting to dump Backes or Stempniak (sp) more than Mayers.
