  1. say that you are really greatful to her for teaching your son english and hope you can stay in touch with her send a flower and if your kids good at drawing tell him to draw a card gforher and send it to her.

  2. Maybe a card with your thoughts expressing just that. Make sure she knows what's in your heart. I know that is something she will not only appreciate, but it's also something that she will never forget. I know if one of my children I teach's parents did that, I would be so touched and it would make my job feel more worthwhile, like I was really making a difference in a child's life.

  3. Just write a letter from your heart.  Seriously, that means SO much to teachers.  I just got the most amazing card from a family and I will have it likely for forever.  Teaching can sometimes feel sort of thankless, so when a note from the heart comes, then it is really something special.  It doesn't need to be a perfect letter, it doesn't need to be 100% correct English, just make sure you are saying what you feel.  That's what matters.  If you want to do something more than a card, a Starbucks coffee card or some homemade brownies are always great.  Finally, remember...we get paid for teaching and we do it because we love it!  I never expect a thing from parents and families, but when I do get something, it has real meaning to me.

  4. I believe you should have your son draw her a picture and then have him tell you what he is drawing for his teacher. Then type what he says and paste it on the back of the drawing. It will be a nice gift that is made from the heart. Also, you can write a thank, explaining what she has done for your family. She will love both!

  5. Ohhh. That's their job you know. But your gesture is very nice, common to people that have small kid. And first timer could be eh?  Well, See. Teachers like in kindergarten, sometimes they have to buy (out of their pocket) school supplies like colored papers, erasers, crayons.....maybe you can pitch in. Or you can bake the whole class at the end of the school year anything that everybody will eat - then give the teacher a gift certificate. ($30.00 is acceptable) That she could bring a friend to a nice dinner.

  6. As a teacher of preschool, The best gift I received was a collection of drawings from my kids, the parents had written as best they could as they did not speak English very well, what the picture represented, I still have them now they are in a keep-safe box, they mean a lot to me more so than the expensive presents other parents bought.  another great gift was a picture frame that the child had made out of dry-able clay. like femo. and then at graduation we had a group picture which was pasted inside it hangs on my wall at home.

  7. I went to the florist and had them make a cup of flowers look like an ice cream sundae then attatch an ice cream scoop.

I wrote "Thanks for teaching me the scoop" and had my son sign the card...the teacher loved it and has thanked me many times for the ice cream scoop.

  8. I think you should write her a letter expressing your thanks.

  9. SEND HER AN E-MAIL.........

  10. I got NOTHING this year from the families I teach in my preschool 4-5's class. What did I really want? Just a thank you note, or a  note of appreciation/thanks, or maybe even a note from the child (with mom's help) with maybe even a picture drawn by the child. I still have notes my past families have given me, I keep a scrapbook of that year's highlights.  At your child's age, you can have him make a blank card (even on a sheet of paper). Just have him write 'thank you' on the card, and sign his name, and draw a cute picture (maybe of him and his teacher). perfection is not an issue. just what your child's abilities are. you can add your comments and note of thanks to the teacher. a little gift or flower is up to you. teaching your child to say "thanks' and to write and say 'thank you' in a card is a life skill is lacking today. and, I must thank YOU for recognizing your teacher's efforts! we need more families out there like you! keep up the good work!

  11. That is wonderful! My dream is to be a teacher and for reasons such as this right here...she will be so happy and touched to find out how much she touched and helped you, and your son! May God Bless you all!

  12. Have your son write her a small thank you card; include your feelings also. Add a picture drawn by your child and maybe a gift card/and or flowers. This is more than enough. Believe me, his teacher will appreciate your kind words.
