We're having a surprise 50th anniversary for our grandparents and I am in charge of typing out all of the thank you notes. I wrote Thanks for joining us for the celebration of Charles and Verdas 50th Anniversary. My question is, when I wrote Charles and Verdas her name is coming up wrong. Is it Verdas, or Verda's?

  1. It would actually be Verdas'. :)

  2. Since the anniversary is possessive in your note, the correct form would be to say Charles' and Verda's anniversary.

You always use the apostrophe when something is being possessed by someone.
