Thank yous for hostesses of my bridal shower?

My mom, sister, aunt, two cousins, MIL-2-B and SIL-2-B threw my fiance and I a bridal shower yesterday. What is an appropriate thank you gesture? Are we supposed to give gifts as thank you's or just really nice thank you cards?

I am giving them gifts, only because showers often cost money and I think it is just a very nice gesture of thanks.

I have ordered Organic Gourmet Chocolates for them and am sending a nice card of thanks a long with them.

7 is a lot of people to buy gifts for if you go that route.  I think I nice thank you card (the ones you buy individually, not in the package, so everyone's is different), with a sincere personal message would be sufficient.  I know my mother would rather that than a gift.
