  1. There isn't one.

    The whole of Europe, including Great Britain, was switch to a nominal 230 volts (+/- 10 volts) way back in 1995.

    It is surprising how many people are completely unaware of this fact.

    Check out the Electricity Supply Regulations, SI 1994, No. 3021 document for more details.


  2. Most consumer electronics have power supplies that automatically switch between 110 and 220v.  Have a look at the power brick, or the back of the dvd player and look at the electricity info.

    If it says something like Input: 110-240V, you're good.  The only thing you may need to worry about is plug conversion.  This is NOT voltage conversion.  Voltage converters are unreliable at best and cost a $30-100.  A plug converter is going to run you more like $10.
