Is norton internet security superior to all of the free softwares that were mentioned? I mean if anyone here was making a million dollars a year and money wasn't a issue would you still go with all the free anti-spy software and anti-virus software or would you just pay the $50 and go with Norton?

  1. NO!  I wouldn't pay any money to buy Norton.  If you browse the Internet, you will find alot of information how bad it is.  I rather go with the free antivirus protection and spyware protection.

Virus Protection--  2 programs of virus protection will conflict with each other and will actually cancel out the protection. Avast or Avg is Great.

Running Spybot and Defender, with EITHER Avast or Avg (great Free virus protection programs ) will keep a computer in good working condition.

Windows Defender and Spybot are  2 really good Spyware Programs.

$ the best price for your money is Kaspersky Shield Deluxe 2008. Under $40.00.

    Hope this information helps.

    Good Luck. ....

  2. i would use it ~every one says it uses system resources up .it does but not that much.

    i would sooner give norton ½%of memory than a virus 99 %.

your choice ~but that's how i look at the problem.

  3. Not really.  It does have more features, but of coarse these features use up more of your system's resources.

For quite a few years I have been suggesting to my customers that they use either AVG or Avast for their internet security and Spybot and Adaware for anti spyware.  I realize that this suggestion is going to cut into my business a little in that these programs really do work well, but I'd rather have happy customers.
