  1. LOL, it's been a long time since I've heard that.  I don't know where it came from, but it's when someone says something that could be construed as an innuendo.  "That's what she said"... is just a subtle (sometimes not so subtle) way of pointing out to the speaker that what they said sounds mildly (or overtly) sexual.

    **EDIT**  I used to say this when I was 14.  I am now 26.  I'm pretty sure The Office did not begin 12 years ago.  That may have re-popularized it, but it certainly did NOT begin the fad!


  2. The character that Steve Carell plays on The Office, Michael Scott, says that all the time on the tv show. Its funny because he always says it after someone says something that could become a sexual innuendo. For examples, someone may say "That was exhausting." and he replies "That's what she said" as in, that's what she said after s*x. Make sense?
