  1. I think this is a windup

  2. What you have done is lethal to you and others. The 13 amp fuse blew for a reason which you have ignored by shoving a s***w across the plug terminals. That will never blow. So either you go to an early grave or the welding unit will overheat and catch fire. Your chances of something going wrong are very high indeed. You need to take the welder to a service centre.

  3. are you still with us?.    NO

  4. Ah the memories, reminds me of the time I worked as a service engineer at Radio Rentals. You need to make a more sophisticated repair mate. My favourite discovery was a nail wrapped in kitchen foil as a fuse.

No not particularly safe, potentially deadly infact but then if you have actually done so I'm quite sure you know that anyway, imaginative and artistic though.

  5. Not safe it will burn the welder out.

  6. Definitely not.  I assume you are using a mig welder, they install a 13 amp fuse for safety reasons.  Replace it with correct fuse, if it blows again then obviously the mig  is faulty and needs attention.

  7. It is perfectly safe as long as you stand in a bath of water whilst welding!!

  8. I THINK SOMEONE HAS GOT A s***w LOOSE ??????

  9. Only if it's a 13 amp s***w. I'd replace it with the correct fuse ASAP. And buy some spares. You might not kill yourself, but you could ruin the equipment.

  10. Well, seems to be more than a problem with the s***w.....why did the fuse blow, find the source of the problem repair it then replace the fuse.  Seems like 13 amps is awfully small for a welder.....

  11. NO,becos if there is a fault its you that will get 240volts up your arm, shocking!!!!.

  12. Very dangerous! what's more valuable? a $2.50 fuse or your life?

Seriously, if something else goes wrong you could electrocute yourself. Fuses are there to protect you.
