  1. louis dominates the fight, and doesn't give tyson a chance to get any leverage into his shots, keeping him off balance and controlling the action 'till he stops tyson by the 10th.

  2. tyson would kill louis.louis had bad foot work and wasn't as fast as people made him out to be.he also would trade punches with people and this would eventually be his undoing.tyson was fast as lightning and with his peak a boo style would be hard for louis to hit eventually he would make the same mistake holmes did and start swinging wildly in panic and thats when tyson would catch him with an uppercut.tyson would easily beat him in 5 rounds or less.remember that in 1988 people feared tyson more than anyone because tyson was still training hard and still had rooney as his trainer.he was amazing and when he trained hard he prooved that he was to fast and hit to hard for a fighter to just realy on the jab.

  3. tyson hands down man he left a trail of destruction at that time

  4. Tyson would beat Joe in every way. Joe had horrible footwork and defense. People forget how skilled and how fast Tyson was because everyone was obsessed with his power. He had the footwork and handspeed of a middleweight. Thats why he KOed people so easy. Notice the speed at which he closed in on his opponent and how he always had his hands up and his head moving side to side. Im a huge Louis fan but Tyson is superior in every way not to mention MUCH bigger. Joe fought when heavyweights were between 200 and 210. Tyson fought when heavys were between 220 and 255. Tyson takes this one without breaking a sweat.

  5. Louis hadn't hit prime yet by then. I would take the 1943-45 Louis though.

  6. The 37 version of Louis would use his jab effectively and would not fear Tyson.  He would pick his spots and hammer Tyson who would fight back hard.  Finally in round 9 Louis would land a three punch combo and send Mike crashing to the canvas for the 10 count.

  7. Tyson.

Louis is certainly a greater heavyweight but Tyson wins this matchup head to head.

Joe never had the greatest of chins and his footwork could often be sloppy. Tyson was bigger, faster and more explosive.

A pocket fighter like Louis would be in a world of trouble against Tyson.

  8. Joe Louis fought giant HWs like, Max Baer, Buddy Baer, and few other monsters.

And Louis did not have a bad chin. He did take hits when he duked it out with oppoents and got flash knockdowns but always got back up. He had amazing recovery ability.  He took a straight beating when he underestimated Schmeling in the first fight for 12 rounds before going down.

It'd be a tough fight, because Tyson always had problems with oppoents bigger then him that didn't back down and used their jab. Like Buster. Holyfield gave him h ell, and he was a blown up Cruiser.
