The 2012 FIVB Cool Volley proves to be huge success in Pakistan – Volleyball news
The Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) in collaboration with Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) organised a wonderful event for young volleyball lovers in Pakistan.
The FIVB Cool Volley in Shakargarh, Punjab Pakistan had a splendid run over the past weekend. The colourful event was attended by the children aging from 8 to 14, who took part in different kinds of activities at the Cool Volley.
The main objective of the event was to make grass-root level development in the field of volleyball in Pakistan. That was why, the Pakistan Volleyball Federation decided to start the development work with the children of schools. A great number of students
from 10 schools showed up at the event and they were further divided into almost 100 different teams.
A total of nine volleyball courts were set-up for the junior athletes. The student athletes were introduced to the game of volleyball and the instructors guided them about rules of the game.
This was probably the first time that such mega event of volleyball was organised in Pakistan. The International Volleyball Federation expressed concerns to organise more events of the same kind. The FIVB provided complete support to the participants of
the event. They were provided with t-shirts by the FIVB, while the Pakistan Volleyball Federation provided the balls.
All the major officials of PVF such as the President of Federation and CZ AVC executive vice president Ch. Muhammad Yaqub, head of the Coaches Committee and secretary general Punjab Provincial Association M. B Javed, PVF secretary general and chairman of
the technical committee Major Muhammad Afzal, along with members of Shakargarh District Volleyball Association attended the event.
The event turned out to be great success and FIVB intends to work for the betterment of sport in Pakistan. Such events will sure boost the volleyball interest in Pakistan.
In the next run, the Pakistan Volleyball Federation has plans to organise a three-day Teacher Coaching Course in District Shakargarh. The coaching course will be held at the end of January 2012.
