  1. Unfortunately your fate has been decided before this happens.........you could already be doomed.

You can agree with their belief's and become a martyr with them.......or disapprove and they will kill you for not believing lol......catch 22...

    dammit :)

  2. they say your highest chance of survival in this and similar situations is within the first 30 seconds, get away or fight if you must, the statistical chances for survival drop dramatically after this intial time, in combat too you should aim to do everything immediately. Even if you take time to think about grabbing the gun it's too late 30 seconds are up. You grab the gun as soon as you see it, hopefully before they pull it all the way out. Or just run immediately and duck for cover running till you can't run anymore to a public place, police or best harbor.

Assuming you don't get away and are tied and blindfolded in a cell. Now you have to escape from prison or whatever other captivity you're in. This is all particular to the circumstance. You need to know many things. What are thier plans? (don't trust what they say initially, the planes were told we're going to beruit and you'll all be traded for but.....) Who are they? Some wacko could take you hostage because he got fired, are they some organized group with a political or monetary agenda? In Columbia FARQ ransoms people back. It's best if you pay should this happen, your oil company who sent you there should pay the ransom but the govt does not and reccommends others don't negotiate with them. So you better hope the company values you and values bad publicity and makes a deal. Otherwise being a world traveler and wandering through these jungles, your family may have to raise the money, this happens.

There's the idea of befriending them and becoming one of them, you have to prove your worth and loyalty, there is a story of a pirate captain, forget the name, most successful of the carribean pirates and one of the last. He was a map reader, very valued math skill in uneducated time and place, he was forced to work because of this skill and was so successful they made him captain, he didn't try to leave but took them on a rampage against his old colony that abandoned him.

Or just do what they say and leave yourself at thier mercy.
