The 3/1 Orlandos Court will keep his chin up after breaking his maiden in the Ladbrokes.com 480 Maidens – DIV 1
Among the different Division 1 races scheduled in the Monmore meeting, the Ladbrokes.com 480 Maidens made D Henry’s brindle dog, Orlandos Court, break his maiden by giving a classic hit.
The Grade OR race, covering 480 meters distance, had C Allsopp’s Scarty Paddy as the most favourite of the show, but sadly he got defeated by the purse winner, Orlandos Court.
When the traps doors flew open, the trap 1 racer, Orlandos Court, trained by D Henry, commenced with quite an impressive pace.
As he surged through the pack of hounds, he railed in to the middle of the track. Although he got obstructed at the first bend, when he was left with 1 length, he greased his elbow and dashed himself to get the lead.
In the race, with 3/1 odds, Orlandos Court took 28.57 seconds to break his maiden, for trainer D Henry.
Following the winner of the race by 4 ¾ lengths, was Monkspath Azluke, a black dog who was in the show for trainer P Burford.
The three-year-old black dog was placed in trap 6. As he began his chase, the 5/2 favourite got baulked at the first bend.
After getting hampered during the race, Monkspath Azluke could not regain his previous pace, and managed to finish second.
Following Monkspath Azluke for the thrid position was Roxholme Posh.
The black dog, with 5/1 odds, started off with a very sluggish speed. His lazy pace assisted him in being interfered at the first bend.
This lethargic performance made him finish third in 28.96 seconds for trainer H Keightley.
13 ½ length was the calculated distance, shy of which Jennas Pony finished fourth for trainer C Allsopp.
The white and fawn b***h initiated her quest for the purse from trap 5. As she railed through the track, she got hampered at the first bend.
The situation went out of control as she could not mange to retain her speedy chase, and ended up fourth in 30.04 seconds.
The two hounds, who were left far behind and took quite a long time to conclude the race were C Allsopp’s Scarty Paddy and C Price's Cuil Cannon.
Scarty Paddy, being the most ideal hound of the race, was expected to give a tremendous hit that would have helped in breaking his maiden, but sadly the three-year-old hound got baulked as he began his chase from trap 4.
Cuil Cannon, being the last hound to reach the wire, went through the same situation. He tragically got knocked down after getting baulked at the first bend.
The event concluded by rewarding a purse of £150 to Orlandos Court, who gifted a tremendous winning to trainer D Henry.
