The 4Star Sony Ericsson Snowboard Fest to commence soon
The 4Star Sony Ericsson Snowboard Fest is going to kick off on the 19th of February at the SKI resort DRIENICA, Slovakia.
The contest would be featuring adept snowboarders pulling off their best tricks on a huge straight jump. The riders would be competing against each other for a large slice of the $20,000 prize purse, ten mobile phones, and of course the desirable Swatch
TTR Ranking points.
Sony Ericsson Snowboard Fest has remained the biggest snowboard show in Slovakia for a decade and will now be celebrating its 11th anniversary this weekend. The best freestyle snowboarders from all over Europe participate in the exciting big air competition.
This year the invitation has been extended to the contestant of the 6Star Billabong Air & Style competition Innsbruck as well.
One contestant of the Billabong Air & Style has already accepted the invitation and confirmed his participation in the upcoming Big Air event. He is Slovakia’s own Aljosa Krivev. Even though Krivev has not been able to make a serious impact in this year’s
Swatch TTR Tour, failing to even make a place into the top 500, he still has shown a lot of potential. The 18-year-old was part of the World’s largest Air & Style event last weekend in Innsbruck, Austria, and that is enough evidence of his capabilities. The
professional snowboarder is visiting the SKI resort Drienica for the first time ever.
“Once Aljosa Krivec registered to the contest, it seemed unbelievable! Aljosa is the first Slovenian rider ever in the history of Snowboard Fest and Slovak fans have a great chance to see a rider that has been competing in the biggest contest in the World,”
said the organizer Jozef Murin.
According to Jozef Murin, Aljosa Krivev is not the only professional snowboarder gracing the event. Two other prominent riders would be joining him at the event. One happens to be a Slovakian who has won the freestyle snowboarding twice, and considered the
Slovakia’s best snowboarder, Matej Matys. The other is from Czech Republic, Jan Necas. Jan Necas has promised to amaze the crowd with his double backflip.
The prizes for the contests in the upcoming Big Air competition were revised and improved. The initial prize money of $10,000 was raised up to $ 20,000. An additional to the ten mobile phones was made, the stylish surf. This prize is reserved for the winner
of the spectators-judged QUICKSILVER BEST TRICK.
Song Ericsson Snowboard Fest qualifies as a 4Star event in the Swatch TTR World Tour. This immensely increases its significance as there are a decent amount of TTR Ranking points to be grabbed by the winner and the second and third finishers. With the climax
of the TTR Tour approaching, clinching these TTR points at every opportunity has become extremely vital as not too many events are left. The Swatch TTR World Tour will reach its’ climax in the Burton US Open next month, where the top male and female rider
would be crowned.
