The 5 to 1 favourite Bapak Chinta and Best Terms out of Nunthorpe Stakes on 17 August
The 5 to 1 second choice favourite to win the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes to be held at York on 19 August, 2011, 2-year-old roan colt, Bapak Chinta, has been scratched out of the York race among four others. These five contenders bowed out of the feature race
before the 48 hour stage.
The son of Speightstown out of Suena Cay by Maria’s Mon, Bapak Chinta left the race on 17 August, 2011, along with the 2-year-old filly, Best Terms.
The 2-year-old Richard Hannon trained filly is unbeaten in her three starts, which makes her record a perfect three of three.
She broke her maiden this year on 18 April, 2011, at Windsor, in her first attempt, as she downed 13 other opponents to win the five furlong dash.
Her second win came at Newbury on 13 May, 2011, where she was up against 2 other runners in the Scope Charity Fillies’ Conditions Race, over a distance of 5 furlongs.
The filly's third win came in the Group 2 Queen Marry Stakes at the Ascot on 15 June, 2011.
With Bapak Chinta and Best Terms out of the way, it just leaves Requinto, the David Wachman trained 2-year-old bay colt, likely to be the most challenging runner in the race.
The son of Dansili, Requinto, has gone on to race 5 times this year and has been very successful in his last two starts.
On 9 July, 2011, at Tipperary, Requinto participated in the Danehill Dancer Tipperary Stakes over a distance of 5 furlongs. The dash was a listed race and trainer, David Wachman, assigned jockey W M Lordan to guide the juvenile colt against 4 other runners.
It was a comfortable win for Requinto by 3 ½ lengths over An Ghalanta who finished second.
Requinto is coming off a big win at Glorious Goodwood in the Group 3 BET365 Molecomb Stakes. The five furlong dash consisted of 13 runners and Requinto topped the lot to win two successive races on the trot.
Bapak Chinta Knocked a hind leg while doing some light exercise ahead of the Nunthorpe Stakes, an unfortunate event but according to his trainer the juvenile colt will be back for more action as soon as she regains her health.
