Of course I hope the son gets better, but my da has Alzheimer's and the BBC isn't bleating about him.

Sometimes I think the Bolsheviks weren't all bad!

  1. Inequality is what drives society.

    (apparently)

Bit sickening though. The way some people get priority in the media over others. I'm sure hundreds of 5 year olds are ill and the BBC are not banging on about them.

  2. I am sorry your dad didn't make the 6 o'clock news this evening--maybe you should contact the BBC and tell them to broadcast it so others may care!

  3. Prince Edward and wife Sophie rushed their newborn son to hospital with a mystery illness, it was claimed last night.

Five-week-old James was thought to be having tests yesterday.

Countess Sophie - flanked by bodyguards - was seen hurrying into Great Ormond Street Hospital in Central London through a back entrance in the afternoon.

A source said: "Sophie arrived just after 3pm. You could tell by the looks on their faces that they were very concerned.

"They rushed upstairs straight away and went immediately into a consultant's room."

Edward continued with an engagement at the Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers at Mansion House, East London.

Sophie, 42, was reported to still be at James' bedside last night.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: "This is a private matter."

Viscount Severn James, who is eighth in line to the throne, was born by Caesarean section on December 17.

  4. The Prince Edward does not have a five-year-old son, but a five-week-old baby boy. The baby son of the Earl and Countess of Wessex has had tests at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital after suffering an allergic reaction.

A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said the baby had suffered "a minor allergic reaction - it's not life-threatening and it's not serious". It is not known what caused the reaction in the infant or what his symptoms were.

Of course BBC's is going to make a big deal about any royal members or famous celebrities. Who is going to run to the newsstand for headlines news and gossip magazines for a stranger that no one knows about?

  5. He's 5 weeks old. Is your father royal? I'm a rabid republican and would abolish the royal family tomorrow given the chance. However, even I can see that a sick Royal baby is more newsworthy than an unknown person with senile dementia.

  6. who cares loads of other kidz are more ill than him!!!

  7. i hear ya

  8. I think the child's status as eighth in line to the British throne makes it newsworthy. He could potentially be King James III some day.

  9. That's how news reporting works.  Well known figures are reported on, private individuals don't make the news unless they do something 'newsworthy'.  It isn't just because the boy is royalty, if one of David Beckham's children was ill that would have been reported too.  I wish your father all the best.
