I won't get the points for this but oh well.  The most popular show I know of is Top Gear. It is based, I believe out of the UK, or at least somewhere over there.  Howstuffworks.com is also a pretty good website as far as gaining some basic knowledge on cars go.  I would consider myself a mechanic and often times go there to get info on stuff like the new Continuously Variable Transmission.
