The 9/11 Firefighters?

When the buildings collapsed, wasn't there a "chorus" of firefighters' beepers going off in the debris? I was just Google searching that (because I remembered watching a video with a chirping so loud it sounded like billions of crickets) and I couldn't find anything.

Yes. It was their locator beacons chirping. They beep to help the other firefighters find an incapacitated firefighter.

I believe there were a total of 343 firefighters that were killed and only the remains of 189 of them were located.

They have been finding bone fragments steadily since that day, so I am not sure if any additional firefighters have now been identified through DNA.
