Question:

The Aaron Rodgers hate needs to stop

Rodgers has done everything the Packers have asked him to do. He has sat the bench for 3 seasons and learned the offense every bit as good as Favre ever knew it.

He has also stepped up since March and assumed the leadership role they wanted him to take.

Then, here comes Favre with his "I have an itch" c**p.

HE RETIRED.

The team moved on without him, that's what you do when players retire.

No one "forced" him to retire, no one held a gun to his head and made him do it. If he just would have made it clear then that he still wanted to play, they could have handled the whole thing differently and both sides could have been satisfied.

There is no one to blame for the whole thing except Favre.

And , packers fans probably will be chanting for Favre.

Just when their starting QB needs their support the most and wants to feel welcomed and comfortable on a team he has belonged to for 3 years.

But no, he will have to play with all the fans harrassing and heckling him from the stands.

The fans have made it clear to Rodgers that they hate him and don't want him on their team.

So, hopefully he has a great year.

He is in the last year of his contract. So hopefully he leaves all the unappriecative and hateful fans behind and signs a big contract with another team who's fans will be happy to have him.

  1. I am not a hater.

I think the boos towards Rodgers were simply support for Favre.  had nothing to do with Aaron personally.

Packer fans better get on board the Rodgers plane quickly and cheer him every chance they get.  The saga is over and Aaron is the guy.  The fans don't have a choice anymore..so they better support what they have.

  2. i agree i think rodgers is gonna have a solid year i dont think that hes gonna match up last seasons record but hes gonna b pretty good. as for the favre thing its getting ANNOYING how every1 is talking bout him

  3. I totally agree with you

  4. yes i totally agree

  5. Its not that people hate Aaron Rodgers its that he is following a legend that wanted to come back for the team he is playing for. Aaron hasnt given anything to the Packers franchise but yet Favre has given them so much and they dont seem to respect that. Ted Thompson wants to win his way, with his coach, his players, and more importantly with his quarterback. He doesnt want people saying Favre carried the youngest team in the NFL to a superbowl all by himself with his leadership and Ted not getting any credit. Yes its true that Brett retired but there have been other players to retire and be welcomed with open arms (like Jordan for example). As far as waitng for three years thats no ones fault but Aarons, I mean why sign a four-five year contract with a team that has a quarterback that never misses a game. Fans are more angry at Ted than anyone else but they boo Aaron because he is the only one who can put up stats. As for Aaron having a good year I dont see it, I mean hes not exactly the healthiest guy around and it is technically his first year under center, and he has never had a full season of hits and hes already injury prone, it he does stay healthy then he should do great, as a packer fan I hope he does.

  6. Nobody is really hating on Aaron Rodgers per-say.  People are just hating "Brett Favres Replacement"

It could be Rookie Joe Montana and he would still get the same scrutiny just because what brett farve meant to that team.

  7. If the Packers want to move on and have Aaron Rogers as their future QB then It'll take time..Obviousely he's not as good as Brett Favre now but it'll take time for him to develop...And Green Bay fans should realize that aswell as the media, who'll be jumpin on Rogers balls if he screws up..

  8. Not a question, but still right.

Unfortunately for Mr. Rodgers, if he doesn't have an awesome year (we are talking he has to make playoffs and at least first round won), he will be extremely hated.

Brett Favre really screwed the kid over.  But I have been very impressed with how well Rodgers kept his cool and didn't lose it on Favre after what Favre did.

So I agree, I hope he has one awesome year.

  9. right on. You can't hold up a team every offseason, they gotta make moves while he's going back and forth, back and forth.

The other issue is, Packer fans need to have realistic expectations about this team. No matter what, after Favre left, there will be a tough following season. They were all going "this team is on the cusp of a championship". No it wasnt. If they were good enough with Favre to win it all, he wouldn't have thrown that pick versus the Giants.

At that point, you can't hope a 38 year QB who isn't sure if he wants to play will lead you to a championship. You have to start thinking about the future, which is a talented young team with a young QB who's saturated as much of the system as possible.

  10. I'm with you.

  11. and how dare any of you make fun of aaron rodgers after all hes been through he was finally named the starter then Bret Favre came out of retirement and all you people care about is readers and making money off him HE'S A HUMAN! lol LEAVE AARON RODGERS ALONE! LOL

  12. I don't Hate Rodgers, and I agree with you, that he doesn't deserve to be insulted because of events that he had no part in.

However, Brett Favre asked to be released from his contract with the Packers very soon after announcing that he was coming out of retirement.   He said at that time that he would not play anywhere if he was not going to be the starting quarterback(can you blame a 3 time MVP who is way older than most NFL players, noone wants to ride the bench).   The Packers refused to release him from his contract.   After everything Favre did good for that organization, I feel like the Packers Management and Coach are Classless Pieces of c**p for that.

I dissagree with you that Favre is to blame for the whole thing, the Packers management are the People who could have ended this a long time ago, so blame them for Fans harassing Rodgers.  If they had mmoved on, the why wouldn't they just simply sign his release papers?  If they would have done that, then They would not have recieved all the negative press they have been getting before this season.   And for the record, Rodgers name is now very well known, where before this, most people in this country could not tell you who he was.

Aaron Rodgers has some very big shoes to fill this season, I wish the man lots of luck, and hope he has the talent to keep one of the NFL's all time great teams close to the top of the league.

  13. i agree.
