The Absent Mare to pair up wins by bagging the Dreweatts 1759 Handicap at Newbury
The Class 4 Dreweatts 1759 Handicap will be held at Newbury over two miles on Friday, 20th April. Competing in the £4,528 event are fourteen four-year and older thoroughbreds.
The most accomplished among the line-up is The Absent Mare, Fair Mix’s four-year-old grey filly out of mare, Precious Lucy. The outcome of her last three races has not gone below the third position. Three of those starts are during the 2012 season with two
second scores and a victory. None of the races were at Newbury.
She penetrated into the new season on 28th February in the Lingfieldpark.Co.UK Handicap at Lingfield over two miles. The race was won by Belle Josephine as The Absent Mare strode through the wire after covering the length’s gap while riding with

The 9/4 favourite of the race, Maison Brillet, ended third behind the winner.
Keeping the consistency intact, The Absent Mare qualified as the 11/4 favourite runner up of the 32Redcasino Handicap on 19th March at Kempton over two miles.
Frederick William won the race and Blackstone Vegas settled third behind the winner.
Third start of the season had her winning the £32 Free At 32Red.Com Handicap at Kempton over two miles on 29th March. The Absent Mare was entered as the 11/8 favourite of the race and led the runner up, Russian George, by 1 ¼ lengths.
Coming at terms with the third position was Gilded Age.
She is in for the fourth start of the season today and has all the chances of pairing up the victory by bagging today’s race.
An entry who is coming out of a victory in the final start of the previous season is the four-year-old Hidden Valley. She won the Totequadpot Handicap on 16th October 2011 at Bath over two miles and a furlong.
She led the runner up of the race, Schism, by one and a half length and was coupled with David Probert. Concluding the race third behind the winner was Native Colony.
The entries for the race are a mix up of those who have raced during the new season and have not struck the victory yet and those too who will be stepping into their seasonal debut.
