In fact none of the other buttons: Change Appearance or More Options, work either.

  1. I am having the same problem.  Using IE6 (my old computer and I don't like 7).  Turned off pop ups, Norton internet security, my java is working, tried holding down shift key to overide popup blocking, tried the fix from Vox.  Nothing seems to work.

  2. You can't get your old Yahoo home page back.

The problems you're experiencing are not you or your computer settings.  It's Yahoo.  List your error messages for us.  If you don't know how to do that click on the error icon (yellow triangle) in the lower left-hand corner of your screen on the status bar.  It will give a full description.

I have the same problems, did the same checking everyone else did and found everything is in order.  I'm running IE6 on Windows 2000 PRO.  I'm showing script errors, which indicates it's Yahoo and not me.

Periodically, for very short periods of time and tonight for about 10 minutes my home page came up without any errors but I still couldn't add content.  Everything disappears as soon as I click on it.  Appearance and Other Options were both working and so were all the various buttons in the modules.  Now I'm back to errors.

There is a way to add content even with the button not working.  Go to your email and switch to the new email if you're not already using it.  All of your feeds will show up there and you can also add more.  That always works.  At least we have a "work around" until things are fixed.

Watch for short windows of time when you don't have the error icon.  That's when to jump on the Appearance and Other Options.

We're all in the same boat!  :o)

Edited to add....  My initial response from Yahoo was the same as the poster below but when I sent them the specific error messages they said they'd send the info on to engineering.  I haven't heard a thing since and have contacted them several times.

  3. Bad news. As you can see from the postings, this is a common problem. None of my buttons or module edits work for me with either in Firefox or IE. I've downloaded and enable the most recent java update; and the problem still  appears to be a javascript error. According to Yahoo (see letter below), javascript is being blocked by some other program on your computer and there"s nothing they can do. This is just a bit too much aggravation, so unless there's some sort of solution in the very near future (which there probably won't be); I'll have to say "adieu, yahoo."

    The following is from another posting on this board;

ADDED: reply from My Yahoo! Customer Care

    Hello Paul,

Thank you for writing to My Yahoo!.

We understand that the menus and links in the new My Yahoo! are not working for you.

The error message you are receiving indicates there is an application on your system blocking the scripts that enable these items to function.

Unfortunately it is not possible for us to determine which application you may have, as there are many different software packages that perform this function. You will need to look for some form of anti-virus, web 'assisting' software such as toolbars or firewall packages that block pop-ups. The only way to diagnose and resolve this issue is to disable them one at a time to determine which one is responsible for the issue

    you're experiencing.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. If you have any additional questions please contact us again.

Thank you again for contacting My Yahoo!.

    Regards,

    Kalis

  4. You probably have Javascript turned off in your browser.

Don't know what browser you have, but they are about the same, setting wise.

Firefox - (versions differ a bit in layout) Top of  browser click Tools, Options, Content, then make sure Enable Javascript is checked.

That other browser - IE6 - is a bit harder to get it on and off due to it being in with the security settings. Goto Tools, Internet Options.

    Security Settings, Custom Level.

Look for SCRIPTING, under that ACTIVE SCRIPTING, click enable.

Click OK at the bottom of the window.

Then click OK on the Internet Options window.

Then exit out of the browser.

Open it back and it should work.

Other browsers are about the same as Firefox.Look for a Javascript setting somewhere. Not Java.

    EDIT..

Do you have Firefox 3 by chance? I have Firefox 2 and firewall/security settings all intact. Everything works on it. If that is the issue, you can get the older version. Either get it from Firefox, I believe it is under archives or there are a few website that have old versions of  different software.
