The Aidan O'Brien trained Was to prevail in the Barclays Bank Ireland Pretty Polly Stakes
Aidan O'Brien's charge, Was, will be aiming to land another victory, this time in the Group 1 Barclays Bank Ireland Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh on 1st July, 2012.
Chances are that the daughter of Galileo, out of mare Alluring Park, will notch the victory in this 1 mile and 2 furlong contest as well, after she excelled in the Group 1 Investec Oaks at Epsom on 1st June, 2012, where Seamie Heffernan guided
her to a narrow victory over, Shirocco Star, by a neck.
The three-year-old filly may not have all the experience she needs, but she certainly has all the skill she needs to win this race.
The bay filly demonstrated her superior racing skill in her maiden, when she landed a 2 ½ lengths victory over, Cabin, in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden at the Curragh on 7th August, 2011.
Returning to the same track might give the runner an advantage over the other runners.
Aidan O’Brien dominates the line-up with five other entries including Betterbetterbetter, Maybe, Soon, Up and Wonderful.
Despite the fact that, Was, is in brilliant form, things will not be easy for her since she is competing against runners, who are determined to crush her in the race.
The Dermot Weld trained, Sapphire, is currently on a hat-trick, and she will try her best to complete it in the upcoming race with all her might.
With a victory in the Group 3 Kerry Group Noblesse Stakes at Cork, she looks in good shape.
Paired with rider, P. J. Smullen, she defeated, Betterbetterbetter, by 4 ¾ lengths over the distance of 1 mile and 4 furlongs, where she raced as a favourite and justified it well.
This rivalry will be renewed once again, since both runners will meet once again, while Sapphire will fight to stay on top, on the other hand, Betterbetterbetter, will aim to crush her and recover herself.
Trainer John Gosden has entered Izzi Top, who notched a victory in the Group 2 Betfred Middleton Stakes at York.
Entries from Ireland also include the David Wachman trained, Aloof and Jessica Harrington's charge, Bible Belt.
