The Alberta Oil Sands: Good or Bad for Canada?

Give a detailed response please....with as much detail as possible !!!!!!...if possible give detailed points for both sides of the arguement

From an economic point of view the oil sands are great for Canada.  The way the USA is going down like a sinking ship, we would be in huge trouble without the oil sands!!! Alberta, would be broke!

From an environment point of view, there should be a lot more restrictions and guidelines for how they put the sand back, and replant.
