The All India Junior Golf Tour Final-round 2
The second round of the All India Junior Golf Tour Final was held on the 28th of December and witnessed a dominating play by the golfers Chikkarangappa and Trishul Chinnappa.
The Tuesday’s play observed the local golfers handing out a rather tough competition to the rest of the line-up as they finished round two with a total score of 71 and 72. The Championship was played at the Eagleton Golf Club in Bengaluru and displayed the
above stated score after 36 holes.
According to statistics, the challenger Chikkarangappa played a total of 146 strokes and managed to score a much better score of 71 in the second round of the championship. The golfer carded a 75 in the first round of the event with Chinnappa matching his
classy pace.
Chinnappa thus collected a 75 in round one and managed to play a good second round on Tuesday. He scored 3 strokes below his round one numeral and collected a 72 to complete a collection of 147 strokes.
His contender, Chikkarangappa is one of the favourites in the tournament and topped the Category A with Chinnappa aptly following the leader, claiming the second place.
At third place, Ainesh Ahluwalia from Gurgaon stood with a total of 149 strokes and represented a good form for round two of the Golf Tour.
In Category B, Rigel Fernandes maintained his first round lead and carded one shot better than his round one score. The 14-year-old golfer managed to pull together 143 strokes on his score card and collected a 71 for his lead.
The Group B leader was further followed by Viraj Madappa and Shubhankar Sharma after they collected a total of 148 and 154 strokes. The previous play placed the golfer on the leader board with a 72 and 78 respectively. The hopefuls played round one of the
Championship in a matching pace and carded a 76 in total.
In Group C, Piyush Sangwan maintained his lead with total of 146 strokes. Sangwan faltered a bit in the second round of the championship and carded a 74 as compared to his round one 72. One stroke above Sangwan, Prakhar Asawa matched his pace of a round
two 74. At third place, Karandeep Kochhar played 156 strokes after a score of 76 and 80 from round one and two.
Group D was led by Kshitij Kaul who led the leader board with a 6 up 78.
As far as the grouping is concerned, Group B represented golfers from ages 13 to 15 while Group A and Group C consisted of golfers from 15 to 18 years and 11 to 13 years. Group D on the other hand catered golfers below 11 years.
