Follow the link, I used this during my philosophy class at University. It has a picture of the cave set up as well. It is very help full and will answer all your questions.

  2. Sure, I'll do your homework for you lol

Okay, if my memory serves me right (and it was about a year ago) there are People who, their entire lives, only see shadows cast by fire, a fake light. Since this is all they know in the cave, it is what the believe to be truth and real. One day, one is brought out of the cave, and slowly sees the light of the sun, true light, reality, knowledge. This person is hurt by the light and wishes to go back, but knows he cannot. His eyes hurt for a while, but eventually, he understands and accepts that he was living in ignorance, in the darkness of knowledge, and now that he sees the the light, he is enlightened. As for the cave dwellers being angry, i believe it has something with him saying that what they have come to know as truth, living in ignorance, is fake. This pisses them off.

cave represents The climb from ignorance to enlightenment. At first, you are in darkness, but eventually you see the light.

Hope that helps! (and one you understand that, i suggest you watch The Matrix, or possibly suggesting to your teacher that you do so! It was... my second best highlight of last year. Number one is when we saw the play Les Miserables)
