I will start with What makes you think that any one could prove any thing to the GREAT RANDI. He is set in his ways and can duplicate almost anything with his slight of hand stage tricks.

  1. Anyone who calls themselves "amazing " is prolly not going to be convinced.  He wouldn't believe it if you could hogtie a ghost, take it to him personally and have it bite him on the butt!  Besides, he would have a harder time proving to me that he even has 1 million to spend.....

  2. The Amazing Randy has been offering that for years now. His thing is if you can not touch it, see it, smell it or taste it you can not prove it because you can not disect it.

  3. its possible

  4. You/he is kidding right? That would be chump change to someone who could PROVE it.

  5. Does Randi think he's Cassius Clay???

ie..."There are things more important than money." I know that the  skeptics don't believe that. (Not to say that money isn't important and necessary...but the spirits don't seem to need it!)

  6. yeah, but, who gives a p**p?

  7. I've never seen this guy, but I get the feeling that nobody has ever gotten that reward because you can't prove something to someone whose determined to NOT to believe. You know? I get this feeling that he's so sure he's right, that this stuff doesn't exist, that you could stand right in front of him and do something and he'd explain it away, he wouldn't be satisfied.

I for one simply don't feel the need to prove my gifts. I already know I have them. Randi can keep his money, I have all I need.

peace and love to you and yours

  8. Criss Angel beats amazing randi

and criss angel is hotter <3

  9. The amazing thing is that some of you have trouble believing that there is a million dollars prize money, and yet you have no trouble believing in ghosts and all other sorts of non-existent things.

  10. He doesn't even need to be present for the test.  The participant participates in developing the protocol as well.  It's about as fair as could be.  There have been no takers.

To be fair, he isn't asking anyone to prove anything.  He is asking for someone to demonstrate a paranormal ability to statistically significant degree.

EDIT: It's fun reading the rationalizations.  Here's a particularly good piece giving 10 tips on how to deal with the James Randi and his Million Dollar Challenge:

  11. Well, that's the point, isn't it?  Most people who claim supernatural powers are simply pulling a trick of some sort.  But if you want to get his million, they'll set up a simple test to test your powers - one that you help design and agree to ahead of time.  No one judges it - it's set up so the results are self-evident.  Either you did what you claimed you could or you didn't.  It doesn't matter if he believes you or not - you enter into a contract, there are witnesses, and he has to give you the million if you win.  So far, no one has come even close.

No, his tests aren't all that scientific.  But if he ever finds anyone who can pass one, we can easily design a more scientific test to prove that their power actually exists.  It'd be easy.

  12. Well I don't go around proving what I do in the first place to anyone. I am not trying to build a cult for the true believer syndrome, that is how cults are formed.  I sure as h**l wouldn't try to prove something for money.  Either a person believes or they don't , its not my duty to make believers. Religions can do that if they want.

Its like a UFO, someone saw something it can't not be explained but it doesnt mean a person didnt see something.

  13. Who the heck is The Amazing Randi? I've never even heard of him

*** EDIT....ok...so I now know who the Amazing Randi is...and I'm speechless. d**n I wish that ghost that follows me around would work with me here...lmao

My brain actually started ticking... thinking how I could prove it hahahahaha!  I could really use a million dollars damnit.

  14. It actually says "paranormal ABILITY"... whatever that is.  He's disproving psychics, not the existance of paranormal activity.

    Big difference.

  15. yeahhhh.... somehow I really doubt that.

  16. Honestly who gives a hoot, about Randi, and his million dollars..I certainly dont, nor do alot of other people from here...woo hoo...and whats so amazing about Randi......

Is he amazing cause he has a million dollars...gee that must mean that some of us are multi amazing...what a joke .....LOL

EDIT...In all honesty i would only be interested in exploring the paranormal further..and being able to prove it exists, rather than worry about his prize...Thats the only interest i would have...and some of us know we cannt just make paranormal happen on command..It has the upper hand on us for now at least.....But i strongly feel that one day that will change...

  17. First, not even the skeptics take this challenge seriously and not a single person in the scientific community regards his challenge as science.

Second, the rules have changed (or are changing) so that one has to have a "media presence" to even qualify for the prize.

This continually less and less relevant magician with no training or education in science and an established history of dishonesty will continue to slide into the "who?" club.

"But as a leading Fellow of CSICOP, Ray Hyman, has pointed out, this "prize" cannot be taken seriously from a scientific point of view: "Scientists don't settle issues with a single test, so even if someone does win a big cash prize in a demonstration, this isn't going to convince anyone. Proof in science happens through replication, not through single experiments."

  18. At least by offering a reward for undeniable proof of paranormal activity he is encouraging real objective discussion on the subject.  Unfortunately for everyone who has come forward there has always been a a logical explanation. I haven't heard anything to suggest that Randi has been deceitful in his actions.  From what I've seen he would like to see the proof, he would like to be convinced.

I hope one day the real proof will come.

  19. YOU tell RANDI that i will duel him with my wand any day......

  20. My answer is while Randi's test would certainly not be scientific proof.I wish one of the many paranormal boasters.Just once would put up or shut up.Quit Bragging and telling tall tales and do it.Or you all could just go on making excuses for them.I'd bet a million that's just what you'll do.

  21. i am paranormal where my 1mil?

  22. The tests that are performed are designed with the person trying to prove thier claim, and are carried out by a 3rd party company, not the great Randi himself.

Randi doesnt make the determination of whether the claim is true.

Proving a paranormal power involved beating a statistical guess. The field of statistics is very well studied and we can figure out exactly where random chances and guesses will land. Anyone who can consistantly beat those numbers (for most claims) would be paranomal.

  23. I would have him come to my flat and check it out. Apparently everybody on here has told me it is haunted. Really, let him p**s himself while he has to spend a night in my very haunted bathroom in a new flat, built 2006 with an awesome security system. Hey, if it has me up at night I have a feeling he may be a believer after that. Check out my post... Is my flat haunted and then you may get the idea.

  24. Paranormal stuff happens to me all the time. I wish "Amazing Randi" would shut the f*ck up and give me his money. I bet he does not even have a million dollars. He just does that to try to disprove people. He is full of it. He is afraid of the paranormal. I suggest we all ignore him. He will become a believer once he is dead and on the other side. Until then, he is a bore.
